Best Places to Get Pizza on

Chicago’s North Shore

There’s just something about pizza that makes any day instantly better. And the options are almost endless!

From thin crust to pan to deep dish, plus a variety of cheeses and seemingly hundreds of toppings, no two pizzas are ever quite the same. So the next time you’re craving pizza night, turn to one of these local establishments for your perfect pie.
Warning: Do not read on an empty stomach.

The Village Inn Sports Bar and Grill
There’s no better place to be when the game is on. Choose from traditional or specialty pizzas, including Buffalo Pizza with wing sauce, chicken and mozzarella or Hawaiian Pizza. Wash it all down with a Temperance Gatecrasher. And know that when possible, Village Inn uses locally sourced and sustainable products.

D’Agostino’s Pizzeria
Visit D’Agostino’s at The Glen for lunch or dinner any day of the year (except Thanksgiving and Christmas). When the weather is nice, dine al fresco on the patio. Or find a seat in the “Pub” whenever your favourite team is playing. Of course, you can always decide to have your favourite pizza, be it thin crust, gluten-free, deep dish, or stuffed deep dish, delivered right to your door.

Giordano’s
Look at all that cheese! From The Special (sausage, mushrooms, green peppers and onions) and Chicago Classic (pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and onions) to Super Veggie (mushrooms, green peppers, onions, broccoli, spinach and black olives) and Bacon BBQ Chicken (BBQ chicken, bacon, balsamic onions and BBQ sauce instead of tomato), there’s a deep dish for every taste. Of course, if deep dish isn’t your thing, you can still order a hand-stretched thin crust or crispy extra thin crust.

Lou Malnati’s
Which deep dish reigns supreme? We’ll let you decide. At Lou Malnati’s, try the Malnati Chicago Classic with Lous’ lean sausage and extra cheese on Buttercrust™ (a must!) or the “Lou” with spinach mix, mushrooms and Roma tomatoes with a cheese blend and garlic Buttercrust™. You can even order a “Crustless” Pizza if you’re following a gluten-free or low-carb diet. Pair it all with a Malnati Salad.

Middy Mags Pizzeria
This newer pizza destination in Glenview offers three specialty pizzas: Godfather II (sausage, onions, green peppers, bacon, mushrooms, pepperoni and sliced beef), Garden Vegetable (zucchini, spinach, tomato, onion and garlic) and Chief Justice (sausage, pepperoni, tomato, garlic and pepperoncini peppers). But, you can add your own toppings to any thin crust, gluten-free, or pan pizza.

North Branch Pizza & Burger Co.
This locally owned business is the perfect place for dinner if not everyone is feeling pizza. While a few of you dine on specialty pizzas like Blanco (roasted garlic, baby spinach, cherry tomatoes, pepperoni and olive oil) or The 9 Juan Juan (black beans, cotija and mozzarella, chorizo, lettuce, tomato, avocado and chipotle drizzle), everyone else can choose from a large list of salads, tacos, sandwiches, burgers and more. Hint: Stop by on Mondays for half-price pizza.

Panino’s Pizzeria
Here, pizza is made “using the old world ingredients, recipes and baking techniques of Naples.” The Capricciosa is made with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, artichokes, cremini mushrooms, prosciutto di parma, Kalamata olives and olive oil while the Navona features fresh mozzarella, cream, roasted potatoes, Applewood smoked bacon, shaved Parmesan, parsley and red onions. Or, create your own.

Your Pie
Take complete control of your pie with this express, build-your-own pizza restaurant. First, choose your dough, sauce and cheese. Then it’s time to load up on all the toppings your heart desires. Overwhelmed? Try a signature pizza like The Nat (basil pesto, mozzarella, feta, sun-fried tomatoes, spinach and chicken) or Southern Heat (buffalo sauce, mozzarella, chicken, red onions and jalapeños served with ranch or blue cheese). End the evening with gelato.
